Fia O Caoimh is an artist, architect, and pilot who has been deeply immersed in the world of aviation for more than 20 years.
Having completed the construction of his own Rutan Long Ez aircraft, Fia became more and more fascinated with the extraordinarily diverse range of configurations which aircraft designers have used to achieve flight.
His sketch book collections attempt to capture the essence of this fascinating world where success and tragedy were sometimes separated by only the narrowest of margins.
Fia’s involvement in airframe construction techniques has helped immeasurably in capturing the minute intricacies of his airframe subjects from rivet lines, to stitching, and fabric stretch marks.
He continues to fly and build up his drawing collection to this day
